This position will be focused on Java/Cloud-enabled development and delivery concentrated in support of Agency Licensing & Appointments.

The role is part of a team that supports a suite of 10 applications that support the Agent Licensing & Appointments capability. The team works together to manage both build and run support for homegrown apps and SAAS solutions.

The successful candidate will have experience with the following technologies/tools:

• Java & API Development (preferably using Apigee)
• AWS Cloud technologies
• CI/CD pipeline tools (Harbor/Rancher, New Relic, Concourse)
• Apache Kafka/Event streaming

This role can be filled remotely (anywhere in the USA) or in a hybrid capacity, collaborating in office with the team a few days every other week. Subject to change.

As a Software Engineer, you will focus primarily on providing high quality, efficient technology solutions to business partners by crafting new software applications or modifying and/or supporting existing packaged or custom-built applications. In this capacity, you'll analyze, code, configure, test, debug, document and maintain applications.

• Analyzes, solutions, develops, tests, debugs, documents and deploys software according to standards in an agile environment.
• Uses DevSecOps practices, tooling and techniques.
• Drives continuous improvement and learning through ongoing training, practice and innovation.
• Manages medium to large project priorities, deadlines and deliverables proactively.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to a Technology Manager/Director.

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Completion of undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or other related degree. Technology experience or non-traditional technology certificates can be substituted for an undergraduate degree.

Experience: Four or more years of analysis and technology experience.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Proficiency in one or more programming language such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript. Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle. Proven ability to tackle complex business and development problems. Ability to thrive in a team environment. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
