An individual in the Architecture job family is a strategic resource for UnitedHealth Group. This individual could be involved across many aspects of architecture, design, build, engineering and implementation of technical solutions and capabilities providing technical leadership. Responsible for communicating overall architecture vision, technical strategies, and trade-offs across various levels in the organization to gain buy-in. Will provide recommendations and technical guidance to improve performance, reliability, and reusability within the constraints of budget, resource and business dependencies. In base and mid-level roles, engages across teams in a capacity that ranges from assisting on in-flight initiatives, up to technical briefings and demonstrations of new technologies across the organization. In senior level roles, leads business solutions, capabilities, and is a strong influencer that engages with client executives and stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Ensure all solutions adhere to enterprise IT principles, standards, and healthcare industry standards and regulations
• Intake scoping, solution concepts and initial cost estimation; system architecture definition at the logical level
• Define architecture blueprint for end-to-end systems to including integration of applications, systems, platforms and technical infrastructure
• Work closely with principal architects, solution engineering, development teams and vendors to ensure that a coherent and consistent approach to design, implementation and integration is achieved
• Provide hands-on technical guidance to delivery teammates including reference implementation, design patterns and best practice guidelines
• Teach and mentor solution engineering and technical teams on solution building blocks
• Generally work is self-directed and not prescribed
• Works with less structured, more complex issues
• Serves as a resource to others

Required Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in applicable area of expertise or equivalent experience
• 6+ years of experience working with E-Commerce, Marketplace, and DTC Technologies
• 6+ years of technical experience with application integration: SOA, Web Services, RESTful, Message Queue solutions using SOAP, JSON, XML, etc.
• 4+ years of experience in an architecture role, designing end-to-end, enterprise solutions across the complete systems development lifecycle
• 4+ years of experience with Java or .Net
• Experience in driving solutions that map to the global target architecture, standards, and roadmaps in a distributed hardware, operating systems, and cloud computing
• Experience analyzing the current business, detecting critical deficiencies, and recommending solutions for improvement

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in an Agile environment, SAFe
• Experience working in a commercial sales organization

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only : The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600.
