Job Description

As a Solution Architect - Core Application Modernization responsible for Core Application modernization with Frost, you will be responsible for working with the core banking application teams to identify and implement the solution for legacy application modernization, which includes building API and micro services strategies, data externalization, DevOps implementation. You will be working with vendors to review their offerings, evaluation, running a pilot and provide a recommendation based on the success of the pilot and key programs. You will be responsible for the life cycle of system architecture for IT business solutions from planning through delivery and maintenance. Responsibilities will include designing system architectures for and review IT business solutions with other IT architects to ensure that the solutions integrate with existing IT solutions and follow IT standards and best practices; designing, implementing, and maintaining solution architectures in all stages of the solution lifecycle; documenting infrastructure, application, and solution designs/architectures throughout all project phases; participating in cross-discipline IT business solutions teams to set architectural direction for key business initiatives; communicating designs and solutions to upper level and direct management as well as business stakeholders; collaborating with project managers, business analysts, and business stakeholders to resolve timeline and scope issues; ensuring that business solution architecture integrates across internal and third party technologies; assisting in the vendor selection process and work with vendors to ensure that third party solutions meet both project needs and Frost standards; and maintaining a current knowledge of Frost IT policies, procedures and standards and ensuring that solution architectures adhere to Frost IT policies, procedures, and standards across the organization. The candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing IT architecture solutions to business problems in alignment with enterprise architecture standards; and work with other IT personnel to ensure that IT business solutions are implemented within the existing or planned system framework.

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Math, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 8+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Client-Server Application Deployment and Architecture, Software Development and Architecture, Web Application Architecture, Network Design and Architecture, and/or System Design and Architecture
• Experience in designing, deploying, and administering applications in Windows, Unix or Linux, and cloud-based systems such as SaaS, PaaS, and/or IaaS
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft computer applications

Preferred:

• 3+ years of experience at a financial institution
• 3+ years of systems architecture experience
• Familiarity with financial regulatory standards including SOX, HIPAA, and SEA Rules 17a-f
• Familiarity with architectural frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, or Rational Unified Process
• Experience with Agile methodologies including Scrum and Kanban
• Cloud deployment design and execution
