About This Job:

The Software Solutions Architect provides the technical leadership and direction in implementing information/data management practices within the enterprise. They are responsible for leading and engaging in information/data management, as well as software/application projects including information architecture, platform architecture, systems engineering, and application development, data dictionaries, data standards, and data quality standards and processes. The Solutions Architect is responsible for developing and maintaining the logical software architecture that enables seamless interoperability of all frontend and backend systems from transaction systems, data systems, services, and information delivery systems. The Solutions Architect is tasked with being the primary focal point within the team for the design, development, and implementation of service management processes which conform to enterprise-wide services best practices, and company strategies.

The Software Solutions Architect faces the challenge of mapping out and implementing system architectures utilizing rapidly changing technologies in a fast-paced environment. Also challenged with managing to the enterprise architecture standards and meeting enterprise service level commitments and productivity targets.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a local point of contact for development and architecture issues
  • Provides detailed impact analysis assessment architecture components
  • Provides the technical leadership for developing and maintaining the information
    architecture
  • Designs, develops, and implements plans to translate enterprise system objectives into
    functional technology and business systems
  • Defines, develops, maintains, and communicates standards that are used by systems
    which interface with the enterprise and platform architecture
  • Collaborates with business product teams to understand functional and non-functional
    requirements
  • Collaborates with other technology professionals within the enterprise technology
    teams on policy, standards and project related architectural deliverables
  • Develops and evangelizes architecture and transformation plans
  • Communicates with project teams and other stakeholders to keep them apprised of architecture status and relevant issues of interest to stakeholders and other business areas
  • Aligns architecture efforts with enterprise level architecture management counterparts to ensure overall alignment of architecture components across all systems
  • Participates in enterprise-level information technology roadmap planning and information technology governance activities in general
  • Serves as a key member on the Architecture Oversight Committee
  • Develop, maintain and update data/information model and information flows
  • Identifies gaps in the enterprise data/information models and addresses them actively in collaboration with the enterprise support teams
  • Provides information administration guidelines and standards for business requirements analysis and enterprise modeling
  • Coordinates with development teams and DBAs to ensure the creation of the physical database and an optimal implementation of the data models/database designs
  • Provides strategic planning, oversight, documentation and implementation support for software engineering and application development teams
  • Participates in the analysis, evaluation, and development of enterprise long-range strategic plans and operating plans to ensure the enterprise architecture objectives are consistent with long-term business objectives
  • Performs all responsibilities within the guidelines of enterprise policies and directives at or above the enterprise’s performance and evaluation standards
  • Participates in sprint reviews and sprint planning

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; or equivalent experience recommended
    • Master's degree preferred
  • 5 to 10 years’ experience in applications or systems programming/development in an enterprise architecture environment
  • Knowledge of current techniques and hardware capabilities of large-scale services, databases, and web applications
  • Ability to execute plans and meet project objectives
  • Deep understanding of API management solutions, microservices, and system integration
  • Ability to understand and clearly relate to other members of the organization, technical manuals, software specifications, hardware principals of operations, and general methods of systems software operations
  • Experience in the development and implementation of software architecture plans, Enterprise Architecture standards and guidelines, software development methodologies and strategic plans
  • Cloud experience preferred
  • Experience with data sharing standards and architecting scalable service-oriented solutions
