Your Opportunity

New Relic helps engineers resolve the most complex challenges in running software by offering the world's best source of telemetry data and instant observability solutions. We are laying the foundation for anyone in the engineering world to instrument their systems in a simple, automated, and extensible manner to get telemetry data and insights. We are looking for an experienced software engineer to join our team responsible for development and deployment of New Relic's observability solutions on multiple platforms, integrations, and architectures.
What You'll Do

You will be responsible for the simplification and ease of instrumenting our observability solutions at scale. You will apply broad and deep knowledge of industry trends, dev ops practices, analytics, and automation to enable our customers to instrument easily and realize immediate value. You will collaborate with the UX research team to provide an outstanding self-service experience for our customers, guiding them quickly to valuable insights and much more. You will work closely with the engineering team to evaluate the issues, opportunities, and challenges to deploy and recognize value quickly. You will help the team make sound design choices, avoid short-sighted decisions, and deliver solutions in an agile, scalable, and iterative manner.

Must-haves:

• 5+ years of technical leadership with high-performance engineering teams
• 8+ years of full-stack software development with recent coding experience
• Ability to use analytics to help the team make data-driven decisions
• Experience mentoring and guiding engineers and prioritizing work based on value
• Cross-functional leadership and coordination skills
• Experience with the full software development lifecycle and delivery using Agile practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent

Nice-to-haves:

• Full-stack knowledge of distributed systems fundamentals
• Experience with modern software growth strategies
• Strong practical application development experience on Linux and Windows-based systems
