Focus on the design and development of web services for the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform. The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for a Software Engineer to join us. In this role, you will improve, adapt, and enhance the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform for use in various industries and emerging technology and combine Red Hat's long experience with and success in providing stable and reliable software with the demands of a fast-changing technology landscape, so that strategic customers and partners can migrate their critical workloads to the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform. As a Software Engineer, you will be an active contributor to the mission of the group. Due to the very dynamic nature of the multiple emerging technologies being worked on at Red Hat, the role will require the ability to adapt to changing strategies and priorities. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.

What you will do

• Lead experienced and skilled software developers
• Design and develop software using a range of frameworks and technologies, primarily based on Golang
• Work with all relevant Red Hat functions to architect, stand-up, debug, and document new web services solutions
• Lead and direct the work of other team members

What you will bring

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent
• Very solid analytical and programming skills
• Experience in software development using one or more programming languages, Golang or Python; C or C++ experience is a plus
• Experience in the creation of open source software (OSS) and containerized software development
• Comfortable developing in and configuring a Linux environment
• Excellent presentation and written communication skills targeted at technical, business, management, customer, and partner audiences
• Motivated with the ability to take charge of assigned projects and guide all aspects of them with minimal supervision
• Wide degree of creativity and latitude
• Cloud-based technology experience
