Position Overview

Autodesk's Risk application gives general contractors and subcontractors in the commercial construction industry (e.g., painters, plumbers, electricians, etc.) a quick and efficient way to control pre-construction workflows. We help our customers manage millions of risk qualifications every month, through an easy-to-use, modern web application.

Our team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Full-Stack), who has extensive experience with modern frontend frameworks, helps other team members grow, and has a strong focus on customer experience. This is a great opportunity to join a small, friendly team and make a big impact on a product that is a critical part of the pre-construction workflow!

Remote work is allowed for this position.

Responsibilities

• Develop new features using full-stack technologies, with a focus on front-end frameworks
• Document decisions and engineering design specifications
• Focus on quality, including writing unit/integration tests and refactoring when appropriate
• Debug and solve defects in implemented software solutions
• Perform on-call duties
• Collaborate effectively with UX Designers, Product Managers, SDETs, and other Software Engineers
• Work within a small, agile team, following a sprint methodology
• Actively participate in code reviews and contribute to technical discussions
• Communicate technical challenges within and across teams effectively
• Break apart complex initiatives into manageable chunks
• Commit to understanding best practices and help improve them
• Keep yourself up-to-date with evolving technologies

Minimum Qualifications

• Strong programming skills, able to write modular, testable, and maintainable code
• Strong experience with JavaScript & React
• Experience with Angular (and AngularJS) is a plus
• Familiarity with Python, Node.js
• Familiarity with SQL and relational databases (we use Postgres)
• Experience with MongoDB is a plus
• Familiar with webpack, Flow, styling frameworks (e.g. JSS, SASS, styled-components), unit testing frameworks (e.g. Jest, Mocha)
• Problem solver with excellent communication skills; ability to make sound, complex decisions in a fast-paced, technical environment
• Self learner, who gets things done with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience fine tuning webpack, CI/CD tool such as CircleCI and Jenkins,
• Experience deploying with Heroku and Spinnaker
• Experience with web performance and optimizations
