Position Overview
Autodesk's Risk application gives general contractors and subcontractors in the commercial construction industry (e.g., painters, plumbers, electricians, etc.) a quick and efficient way to control pre-construction workflows. We help our customers manage millions of risk qualifications every month, through an easy-to-use, modern web application.
Our team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Full-Stack), who has extensive experience with modern frontend frameworks, helps other team members grow, and has a strong focus on customer experience. This is a great opportunity to join a small, friendly team and make a big impact on a product that is a critical part of the pre-construction workflow!
Remote work is allowed for this position.
Responsibilities
- Develop new features using full-stack technologies, with a focus on front-end frameworks
- Document decisions and engineering design specifications
- Focus on quality, including writing unit/integration tests and refactoring when appropriate
- Debug and solve defects in implemented software solutions
- Perform on-call duties
- Collaborate effectively with UX Designers, Product Managers, SDETs, and other Software Engineers
- Work within a small, agile team, following a sprint methodology
- Actively participate in code reviews and contribute to technical discussions
- Communicate technical challenges within and across teams effectively
- Break apart complex initiatives into manageable chunks
- Commit to understanding best practices and help improve them
- Keep yourself up-to-date with evolving technologies
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong programming skills, able to write modular, testable, and maintainable code
- Strong experience with JavaScript & React
- Experience with Angular (and AngularJS) is a plus
- Familiarity with Python, Node.js
- Familiarity with SQL and relational databases (we use Postgres)
- Experience with MongoDB is a plus
- Familiar with webpack, Flow, styling frameworks (e.g. JSS, SASS, styled-components), unit testing frameworks (e.g. Jest, Mocha)
- Problem solver with excellent communication skills; ability to make sound, complex decisions in a fast-paced, technical environment
- Self learner, who gets things done with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience fine tuning webpack, CI/CD tool such as CircleCI and Jenkins,
- Experience deploying with Heroku and Spinnaker
- Experience with web performance and optimizations
