Our Team:

Cloud Engineering is a responsible for focusing on the next evolution of the LexisNexis Infrastructure Platform. Our primary responsibility is to design and promote mainstream relevant processes that include but are not limited to TDD, DevOps Elite, and Trunk Based Development as it applies to Infrastructure as Code. Additionally, we are establishing the Platform Engineer Container Strategy (PECS) that will power this evolution as a complete end-to-end container life cycle management process. We are both infrastructure and software engineers with a goal of providing the best engineering experience possible for our application teams. BASIC FUNCTIONS: This position performs moderately difficult research, design, and software development assignments within a specific software functional area or product line. The position should have the ability to work on individual pieces of work and solve problems including the design of the program flow of individual pieces of code, effective coding, and unit testing.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years' experience with one of the programming/scripting languages, such as PowerShell, Python, or Go.
  • BS in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required.



TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Experience building and scaling large distributed systems and cloud computing with one (or more) of the following AWS (preferred), Azure, GCP.
  • Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation/Terraform).
  • Containers and Microservices (Kubernetes, Docker, API Gateways).
  • Design, Build, Improve and troubleshoot CI-CD pipelines for code deployment.
  • Programming Language (Python, Shell, JSON, YAML).
  • Experience with DevOps tools (Git, Ansible, Jenkins, SonarQube, Artifactory).
  • Experience learning, sharing, and implementing best practices with the ability to establish operational processes, implement DevOps, deployment checklists.
  • Team-first outlook including building great working relationships with peers across functions.
  • Positive can-do attitude with desire to exceed Internal developer teams expectations.
  • Must be a great human being and possess a change mindset, while not being afraid to fail.
  • Self-starter with ability to effectively prioritize and execute projects without much direction/supervision.



ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Interface with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements.
  • Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.
  • Work closely with other development team members to understand moderately complex product requirements and translate them into software designs.
  • Successfully implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews.
  • Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders.
  • Resolve technical issues as necessary.
  • Keep abreast of new technology developments.
  • Complete bug fixes.
  • All other duties as assigned.
