About the Role:

The customer platform team is looking for a backend software engineer who will be responsible for building systems that will simplify the process of adding new users to our platform. In this role, you will work with multiple internal teams to contribute to Planet’s software platform, focusing on building backend APIs and customer-facing clients.. Your work will be highly visible and will directly impact the ability of customers to get faster access to Planet’s unprecedented datasets as well as streamline the internal processes for adding new customers to our platform. The ideal candidate would have experience building REST APIs and Javascript clients.

Impact You’ll Own:

• Automate & streamline user account creation
• Update the provisioning process - get customers connected to the data they pay for faster
• Improve the new user experience on Planet’s website
• Build new services and features to support Planet’s growing user base
• Help to define, create and analyze usage metrics to drive customer growth
• Participate in team on-call rotation to support production services

What You Bring:

• Full stack application development experience (Database, Services, Web)
• Fluency in Python, PostGreSQL, React and Material UI or related technologies
• Designing and evolving public-facing APIs
• Curiosity, Innovation, Collaboration
• Passion for improving developer velocity
• Experience scaling and maintaining production systems
• 3+ years industry experience

Compensation (only applicable for Colorado applicants):

The base pay range targeted for this position in Colorado is: $93,600 - $156,600. This role is eligible for equity.

The actual offer, including the compensation package, is determined based on multiple factors, including experience, location, and other business considerations.

Planet is registered as an employer in many, but not all, states. If you are not able to work from a state where Planet is registered, you will not be eligible for employment.
