Overview

Finicity is looking for a talented Node.js Developer in the Connect API team to drive our customer experience strategy forward by consistently innovating and problem-solving. You'll work with other skilled developers to support and improve our Connect APIs. These applications enable our customers to connect their bank accounts with Finicity services. You'll work on an Agile team alongside some really cool developers and product people.

Role
• Own software delivery tasks (code development, test, deployment) at an application/software component level• Participate in team prioritization discussions with Product/Business stakeholders• Actively participate in agile ceremonies including daily scrum, story pointing, story elaboration, and retrospectives• Able to troubleshoot and refactor existing code• Adopt new languages and architecture patterns needed for the work• Assist peers and less experienced members• Demonstrate active learning and sharing of software practices via Guild/Engineering community initiatives• Assist in technical documentation of APIs and services being delivered

All About You :

Minimum Skills:
• Has ability to write secure code in JavaScript and Node.js• Experience building HTTP servers using Express.js• Familiar with secure coding standards (e.g., OWASP, CWE, SEI CERT)• Understands and implements standard branching (e.g., Gitflow) and peer review practices• Apply tools (e.g., Sonar, Zally, Checkmarx ) and techniques to scan and measure code quality and anti-patterns as part of development activity• Understands and builds test code at unit level, service level, and integration level to ensure code and functional coverage• Understands different SDLC practices (Waterfall/Scrum/Kanban/SAFe) and the delivery situations they are used for

Preferred Skills:
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience. • Experience using TypeScript• Working knowledge of relational databases (MySQL)• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Gitlab or Jenkins• Experience with application tracing (SignalFX, Zipkin, Jaeger, etc.) • Understands Continuous Integration (CI) and Delivery (CD) concepts, and capabilities to support automation, pipelines, virtualization, and containerization• Understands functional and non-functional testing types to elaborate and estimate test efforts
