About the Team

Our goal is to deliver the next-generation of Conversational AI. Towards this, we are building a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists to create a dialogue manager platform that can provide elegant conversational experiences at scale. We are looking for software engineers to develop and support robust architectures and technologies that can integrate with our existing LivePerson technologies.

Some of the technologies we’re using

Java/Kotlin, Python, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, Cassandra, MySQL, Ansible, Terraform, JanusGraph, Jenkins and many more.

In this role you will:

• Develop, implement, and support significant portions of production software
• Create a reliable, scalable, and high-performance service requiring exceptional technical expertise, a sound understanding of the fundamentals of Computer Science, and practical experience building large-scale distributed systems.
• Work closely with Conversational AI engineers and scientists to build a conversational runtime platform
• Institute and champion best practices for backend development, from consistency and readability to maintainability and documentation.
• Be responsible and drive the adoption of new and exciting technologies.
• Assess the impact of new features based on metrics that are visualized on our dashboards.
• Support other team members and work together with colleagues around the world to achieve the best result.

Minimum qualifications:

• BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or an engineering discipline
• 3+ years of experience building successful production software systems
• Production experience in some popular JVM language (e.g: Java, Scala, Kotlin)
• Production experience with large-scale distributed systems and databases such as PostgreSQL/MySQL and Cassandra
• Experience in messaging frameworks like Apache Kafka
• Experience with containerization
• Team player mindset and ability to work in an interdisciplinary team.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in Python
• Experience in data processing frameworks like Apache Spark, Hadoop
• Experience with Conversational AI and interactive systems
• Working knowledge of common Google Cloud services
