Role Overview

ServiceNow Developer is responsible for the AvidXchange ServiceNow platform, which supports IT service management to automate business processes. The role involves designing, configuring, developing, troubleshooting and implementing baseline and custom applications to enhance the platform. A ServiceNow developer must also manage the platform to ensure stability and implement architectural changes when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, support and maintain applications based on business requirements using standards/compliant JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3.
  • Apply object-oriented principles when implementing solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software-related issues.
  • Communicate with business analysts to gather accurate specifications for new enhancements and applications. Translate requirements into functional code.
  • Collaborate with team members on projects.
  • Support new ITSM features/functionality as defined within the roadmap, using agile practices to assist in creating a healthy backlog of work to execute upon
  • Ensure that the ITSM systems adhere to best practices and maintain high levels of performance and uptime, ensuring service level objectives are being reached
  • Drive optimization by identifying pain points and efficiency opportunities.
  • Monitor and investigate issues with the technology to proactively prevent issues from occurring where possible.


Required Experience, Qualifications & Skills

  • 4+ years ServiceNow experience. ServiceNow Administration experience including an understanding of the platform including Client Scripts, UI Policies, Actions, Pages, Scripts, Macros, Events, scheduled jobs, etc.
  • Done Integrations with 3rd party tools using (web services, SOAP, email, etc)
  • Experience using and following SDLC methodologies with a focus on Agile/Scrum
  • This person must be a confident communicator, able to influence and build meaningful relationships inside/outside of her/his department. Candidates must have the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Confident and able to multi-task and manage expectations in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.


Preferred Experience, Qualifications, and Skills

  • ServiceNow Administration Certification
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • ITIL Certification preferred; experience with incident and change management practices a must.
  • Experience with Agile practices
  • Experience interacting with REST APIs
  • Experience with HTML, CSS and JS Additional Information
