About the role
On to the nitty-gritty. We’re building a new, core team of engineers in NYC and NJ to design and build the most critical parts of our platform. As our engineering teams expand and our products evolve, we have many challenging problems to solve. In helping us tackle these challenges, you will have a strong impact on our speed to deployment, our quality and our ability to react.

We're excited to find someone with the experience and ability to bring that same mentality into helping to define and build our DevOps practice.
You’ll be integral in defining and establishing the DevOps practice at a young company
You’ll define the best practices and guidelines of how we build and deploy code
You’ll work with other engineers to build and own products across a nascent modern tech stack, where you'll be instrumental in decision-making
You’ll need to lead the implementation of various critical infrastructure and middleware components that drive the platform
You’ll provide mentorship to less experienced colleagues, helping to refine their technical craft and expand their knowledge of modern practices
You’ll advocate for advances to our stack, identifying and evangelizing improvements to increase our quality and velocity
The experience you have
- You’ve worked with modern orchestration and containerization products such as Kubernetes
- You worked with and supported infrastructure in the public cloud, preferably Azure
- You can participate in design of secure, highly available distributed systems
- You understand the needs of the organization around Observability, Monitoring and Alertin
- You're able to confidently weigh tradeoffs when making decisions for how to build scalable systems
- You have strong opinions on CI/CD and how application teams work within the platform
- You seek out the root cause when debugging defects, and champion improvements that prevent future issues

- You love mentoring and supporting other engineers who are newer to the profession or new to your field of expertise.
- You have experience taking the lead in planning and executing the technical roadmap for as is it pertains to your specific responsibilities.
