Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor and coach a software team to e nable highly skilled and proactive team members to do their best work
  • Gather and retain performance metrics in support of continuous improvement
  • Ensure the team's compliance with software standards as well as company procedures
  • Execute quality assurance activities such as risk analysis, software deliverable technical reviews and code inspections
  • Lead the improvement of the software development process and development cost reduction efforts
  • Recommend or implement software development tools
  • Coordinate cross-functionally to ensure the success of the team
  • Understand the big picture of the project and translate it for the software team
  • Assign work in support of both project deliverables and individual team members' career development


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
  • 14+ years of related experience
  • 4+ years of experience leading a team producing products which include software
  • 4+ Experience as a people manager
  • Experience which demonstrates an understanding of writing and assembling software
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time
  • Passion for learning new technologies and domains and a desire to make software that delights users
  • Strong leadership capability and desire to manage a team to build great products
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively
  • Excellent time management, meeting facilitation, communication, and documentation skills
  • Understanding of Agile Scrum development process


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a Scrum Master
  • Experience working on projects that involve both software and hardware components
  • Software development experience in the life sciences domain
  • Software development experience in cloud-connected software
  • Experience in the development of biotech devices and a solid understanding of FDA Quality System Regulation
