About the Role:

The Milo Credit team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to drive the evolution of our software applications! You will play a key role in the development of new products and features, working closely with Product and Engineering team members to create best-in-class software for our customers. You will be expected to be comfortable with and contribute to both front and back end software design, architecture and development.

Your goal will be to deliver high-quality software that is aligned with user needs and business goals. A stand-out Senior Software Engineer is one who is up to date on new technologies and software development practices.

Your mission:

• Develop software applications and supporting infrastructure using established coding standards and methodologies.
• Make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal software performance.
• Analyze and troubleshoot application issues in a timely fashion, resolving root causes of defective behavior.
• Assist in risk assessment and mitigation activities.
• Work with other engineers in planning, prioritizing and executing assigned tasks within deadlines.
• Assist with thorough code reviews that promote better understanding throughout the team.
• Attending team meetings to brainstorm ideas and put forward solutions to any issues.

About You:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering/Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of experience developing software applications. 
• 4+ years of experience in professional web development.
• Self-starter and organized - able to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong understanding of Computer Science fundamentals (Algorithms, Data Structures, Operating Systems, Networking concepts) 
• Proficiency with fundamental front end languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as React and/or Angular JS.
• Proven experience with Node.js and other server side languages such as Python, Golang, Ruby, PHP or .Net.
• Familiarity with database technology such as Postgres, MySQL and MongoDB.
• Knowledge of micro-service architectures, developing highly scalable distributed systems using cloud services (AWS) and open source technologies.
• Proven experience in software development methodologies (e.g. Scrum, TDD).
• Ability to learn new development languages and technologies quickly and apply that knowledge effectively. 
• Ability to work in a collaborative fast paced environment.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.

Bonus Points for:

• Bilingual; you’re fluent in English and Spanish
• Experience in Fintech, the mortgage industry, or a startup environment
• Experience designing products for global consumers (Extra bonus points for specifically working within the LATAM region!)
