We need someone that loves to write elegant code but more than that, is passionate about making things work. We are seeking an engineer who is eager to grow but already sees things through the eyes of an architect and someone who keeps the big picture in mind no matter the task. We need a developer that always codes with performance, scalability, and concurrency in mind.
You will be working on the systems that provide the future visions of the client data experiences for Northwestern Mutual. Our team provides the core client data for the enterprise and is experiencing growth and focus around maturing our core data platforms. We need engineers who can help us mature our space and take our APIs and services to the next level.

- Fast learner and self-starter. The people you will work with are incredibly kind and extremely willing to share knowledge and a helping hand, but you have to be willing to take ownership of the outlined goals and make things happen.
- Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision, yet actively interact with other team members in person or over the Internet (chat, video conference, email).
- Work collaboratively on creative solutions with engineers, product managers and designers in an agile environment.
- Bring new ideas and new ways of solving problems to the team.
Education / Professional Experience
- Bachelor's or Associate degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- More than 7 years of REST API development experience using Java EE and Spring boot for on-premises and cloud applications using AWS services, Kubernetes/Docker.
- More than 3 years of experience with DevOps and CI/CD tools (GitLab or Jenkins), MQ services, MySQL or UDB/DB2.
- Experience with UI development using JavaScript.
- Experience with Dynatrace and ELK.
- Experience working within Agile framework (SAFE, Scrum, Kanban)
- Experience with source code management (GitLab /others)
