About the Role

Our new Senior Software Engineer will be a key member in Business Wire's continued digital transformation journey. They will be a key part of the team that successfully delivers new products and services that delight our customers. They will architect, build, and deploy successful end-to-end cloud native software application products.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with Product Managers, UX Designers, Back End Engineers and other stakeholders to develop tools and libraries that support and expand the Business Wire product suite
  • Work independently and suggest ideas, solutions and technical improvements for products and systems to increase revenue, reduce time to market, and make our systems more capable of adapting to shifting business requirements
  • Lead and participate in critical technical, design, and product discussions with leaders across our product and operations teams
  • Write clean, maintainable code that includes unit and integration tests
  • Help improve our processes and champion best practices
  • May provide operational development support and participate in on-call support rotation
  • Mentor and support peers, and onboard new developers 

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience in a related field
  • 5+ years of full-stack software development experience
  • 2+ years of experience with JavaScript UI frameworks such as React
  • 2+ years of experience with Node.js
  • 2+ years of experience with Java and J2EE
  • Exposure to AWS development with hands-on knowledge of lambda, S3, and other AWS services

  • Exposure to test automation: TDD, unit/integration/functional testing
  • Exposure to web/cloud application design and architectural principles
  • Exposure to microservice based architecture
  • Exposure to working with SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Exposure to container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
  • Exposure to debugging high-priority production issues

    What We Offer

    The base salary range for this position is $120K to $190K. Offered salary will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to: applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with geographic market data. Business Wire reserves the right to modify this salary range at any time.
