The Mission

These APIs will power the core New Relic One product experience, while also being exposed to customers, so that they can activate the full power of the platform.

What You'll Do

  • Deeply understand our customers, who are developers like you.
  • Develop a mastery of our platform.
  • Engineer well-designed and highly scalable and resilient solutions.
  • Contribute to the team's customer impact by building thoughtful, high-quality code that is easy to read and maintain.
  • Periodically lead projects from start to finish.
  • Utilize and leverage Agile practices to deliver value early and often.
  • Generate and propose innovative product potential that will deliver value to our customers.
  • Increase the impact of one or more team members through mentoring, pairing, and support.
  • Join the team's on-call rotation and provide hero support to internal customers.
  • Identify and eliminate technical debt so that we can deliver faster with less complexity.
  • Write and share proposals to improve team processes and approaches.
  • Use all of the above to deliver joy to our internal developer community and to our customers!



Your Qualifications

Must-have:

  • 3-5 years of professional software development experience.
  • Advanced knowledge in backed software engineering (preferably with React), with relatable experiences around building services, and APIs.
  • Advanced expertise with Ruby/Rails.
  • Working knowledge of databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL/DynamoDB), and caches (Redis/Memcached).
  • Familiarity with queue/messaging/streaming platforms (Kafka, Kinesis, SQS, RabbitMQ).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • 2+ years utilizing Agile development practices, with a deep understanding of its concepts.
  • Being comfortable in a fast-paced environment focused on delivering production code at a regular cadence.
  • Expertise in software engineering design, concepts, and methodologies.
  • Experience working with Git, and workflows around it, such as reviewing PRs and applying best practices to reviews.
  • Collaborative working style and excellent communication skills.
  • High level of emotional intelligence and self-awareness.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with GraphQL.
  • Front.
  • Experience with Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes.
  • Comprehensive experience with various AWS native services (ideally around S3, SNS, SQS, EC2).
  • Application security.
