About the job
The Red Hat Product Security team is looking for an experienced Technical Agile Product Owner to join us in the U.S. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the development of multiple internal projects from start to finish to ensure they meet the stakeholder needs and preferences. You'll collaborate with geographically distributed teams, coordinating product deliverables, and communicating schedules. As a Technical Agile Product Owner, you'll need to use your technical expertise to understand the requirements and business drivers for a variety of stakeholder requests. You'll serve as a trusted advisor, facilitating collaboration and fostering relationships between multiple teams. This role may be performed remotely from anywhere in North America and successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to organize the breakdown of features into epics to address stakeholders' needs
  • Collaborate closely with teams to organize the breakdown of epics into user stories fostering the contribution of all members team and addressing stakeholders needs
  • Work with the team(s) to ensure they understand what to work on and why it's important
  • Facilitate communication between stakeholders in order to resolve backlog work priority clashes
  • Ensure that the team's understanding of product goals is sufficient for the teams to work effectively, and with the correct focus, without becoming blocked
  • Assist in the refinement of acceptance criteria and scope for each requirement with all members of the delivery team(s)
  • Provide business justifications on blockers and exceptions
  • Accept the work done by the delivery team
  • Manage stakeholder expectations by communicating progress toward deadlines and align them on team commitments of features and functionality


What you will bring

  • 5+ years of experience with technical knowledge of software development
  • 5+ years of experience delivering technology-related services or offerings
  • 5+ years of experience working in a cross-functional, collaborative environment
  • Ability to collect and analyze information and solve complex problems rationally and make decisions on time
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a consistent manner; fluent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to make decisions quickly, sometimes based on incomplete information
  • Able to manage projects; achieve project goals and meet requirements effectively and in a timely manner
  • Ability to bring different groups of people together to collaborate in a community setting
  • Well versed in agile product development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
  • Familiarity with different project management methodologies, tools, and defect tracking systems
