Positions in this function are responsible for the management and manipulation of mostly structured data, with a focus on building business intelligence tools, conducting analysis to distinguish patterns and recognize trends, performing normalization operations and assuring data quality.
Depending on the specific role and business line, example responsibilities in this function could include creating specifications to bring data into a common structure, creating product specifications and models, developing data solutions to support analyses, performing analysis, interpreting results, developing actionable insights and presenting recommendations for use across the company.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate Data literacy, and be resourceful in terms of understanding Medicare overall, STAR measures, gap closures and claims
  • Support data processing and customer facing reports, or data
  • Design, build, and maintain architecture pertaining to data handling
  • Load data and be able to create user friendly reports, providing technical solutions
  • Learn about the products, share ideas and be able to train or influence others
  • Develop views for end users utilizing reporting platforms such as SSRS, Tableau, or any other reporting tools
  • Work closely with business to gather and finalize requirements, business documents, or user stories
  • Validate new or enhanced technical development and implementation and work closely with Quality Assurance Engineers to achieve quality and accuracy
  • Reviews the work of others
  • Develops innovative approaches

  • Serves as a leader/ mentor

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related field of study or 7+ years of relevant experience
  • 5+ years of experience in full lifecycle of software development projects in an agile environment
  • 5+ years of experience with .NET Core or similar object-oriented programming language
  • 5+ years of experience building web applications using C#
  • 3+ years of experience with MS SQL database management system
  • 2+ years of experience with Angular frameworks / libraries, and MVC
  • 2+ years of experience with application containerization, deployment, and orchestration across environments
  • 2+ years of experience with CI/CD and test automation
  • 2+ years of experience building cloud-native applications in Azure or similar cloud service provider
  • Hands-on technical expertise in building web applications and RESTful web services


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree
  • Experience developing data visualization using tools such as Tableau, PowerBI or SSRS
  • Knowledge of healthcare systems is a plus

Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, or New York City Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada/New York City residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
