The Job …

  • You’ll collaborate with Product Managers and other Engineers to develop features and improvements to the infrastructure that will help impact the international growth of GoFundMe. 
  • You’ll work across the backend and occasionally on the full stack.
  • You’ll participate in code reviews to maintain internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices.
  • You’ll recognize technical debt, propose and implement solutions.
  • You’ll provide mentorship to junior developers through discussions and pair programming.
  • You’ll advocate for improvements to the codebase and provide leadership to others within your team.
  • Developing with backend languages like PHP, or Python.
  • Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems across GoFundMe.
  • Partner with Engineering Manager to lead planning and execution for a scrum of engineers.

You...

  • 5+ years of professional experience developing web applications using object oriented languages such as Python or PHP.
  • Professional experience with relational databases design.
  • Experience using Git in a workplace environment.
  • Experience working in an agile, intensely iterative software development process.
  • Experience with performance and optimization problems and the ability to both diagnose and prevent these problems.
  • Experience with application performance monitoring and log analytics tools. We use New Relic and Sumo Logic.

Bonus Points...

  • Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
