DAT is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team in Denver, Colorado!

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for creating high quality software that is both reliable and easy to support. As part of a highly collaborative team, you will help establish a new generation of microservices supporting DAT’s cloud based SaaS platform. You will also be helping to create frameworks and guidelines for following development efforts in the company.
Candidate profile + What You’ll Do
- Help drive the company forward through designing and developing new microservices
- Define and advocate for best practices across the organization
- Write code that will be used to demonstrate supportable enterprise software
- Create easy to use APIs in both REST and GraphQL
- Work with product managers to refine requirements
- Create a new search system using a NoSQL datastore
- Mentor more junior developers on software engineering best practices
- Work in an AWS environment for both prototyping usage of new technologies and deploying microservices using existing CI/CD systems
The Skills and Experience You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline
- 6+ years of relevant engineering experience
- Ability to develop in node.js/Typescript
- Experience working in both NoSql and relational databases
- Understanding of how to build highly scalable systems
- Be able to work on large tasks with little day to day oversight
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Previous hands-on experience with a major cloud platform, such as AWS or Azure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of messaging systems like Kafka
- Understanding of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with cloud deployment tools like Terraform
Nice to haves
- Experience developing in Java / Spring Boot
- Experience with Elasticsearch/OpenSearce
In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the minimum salary for this role is $150,000.00 + benefits. The maximum compensation for this role can vary significantly depending on your job-related skills and experience.
