Job Description QlikSense Developer
Tampa, FL
We are seeking a motivated & innovative senior hands on developer to build business intelligence capabilities leveraging Qlik Sense at an enterprise scale. The team is on mission to improve the end-to-end risk posture for the assigned Line of Business, and ensure appropriate controls are implemented across the technology landscape leveraging newly deployed Cloud native platform that performs automated control assessments. Individual will partner with Business and Operations teams in support of development of new, and monitoring of existing technology and operational controls to identify, assess and proactively address security issues and changes in the business risk profile. Overall platform is expected to drive effective risk & controls management and support the business through identification of control weaknesses and recommendations for improved security; articulation of the business impact and associated risk; and educate the business on proactive measures to remediate
You will own the suite of Qlik Sense dashboards which is primary source for internal clients to view, understand & assess overall control compliance, review control gaps and associated potential risk. You will collaborate with multiple internal functional areas such as Operations, Product Owners & Engineering to understand risk and control concern areas, automation needs and emerge with intuitive dashboard designs. Along with showcasing current risk and control posture, dashboard is expected to provide insights into thematic issues and surface control gaps with objective of holistic risk reduction.
This role requires a variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • Proven hands on experience of building user centric business intelligence dashboards in Qlik Sense
  • Strong hands on experience creating QlikSense extractor and transformer .qvs scripts to conduct complex ETL, eg Set Analysis, ApplyMaps, Loops etc
  • Strong hands on experience with data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) from various sources using tools like Pentaho or equivalent
  • Strong hands on database design, modelling and SQL skills. Experienced in RDBMS such as Oracle, MS SQL Server etc.
  • Strong hands on experience optimizing extraction scheduling and query processing time
  • Experience identifying seasonality in data and creating visualizations for time series forecast data
  • Experience with Qlik Sense Visualization Extensions, Mashups, APIs and Web Integration etc. is a plus
  • Experience developing with VizLib Objects for QlikSense
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and work independently to produce the desired results
  • Proven experience in application designing, development and deployment using Qlik Sense. Must be efficient in front-end development and know visualization best practices
  • Must have ability to gather data and effectively translate complex business requirements into optimal and scalable data model and visualization
  • Must be comfortable working with multiple datasets with a high degree of complex relationships at many levels of detail
  • Strong commercial mindset - understanding what's important for the business and how we can use data to get there
  • Experience with thematic & trend analysis
  • Clear, logical, and effective verbal/written communication skills and to interpret technical material to clients
  • Sound analytical and diagnostic skills dealing with issues that are not readily defined


Qualifications

  • 7+ years of full-time work experience in BI development or other data intense roles
  • 7+ years hands-on experience with SQL (Oracle or MS SQL)
  • 5+ years of QlikView/Qlik Sense hands on development enterprise grade hands on experience
  • 5+ years of ETL using tools like Pentaho
  • 5+ years of experience with Logical & Physical Data Modeling, Data Normalization
  • Working experience with version control tools like Git or BitBucket
  • Qlik View/Qlik Sense Certification strongly preferred
  • Ability to design and effectively manage identity and access management, including Section Access in Qlik environments
  • Experience with Tableau is a plus
  • Web-based application development experience using .net, Visual Basic, or Java environments is a plus
  • Experience with web development and related technologies (CSS, HTML, JSON) is a plus
  • Technology Risk & Control experience or certifications is a big plus
  • Excellent leadership, collaboration, and project management skills with a keen attention to detail
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
