The Brooks Sports IT Cloud Services and Infrastructure (CSI) team’s mission is to architect, implement, and support IT infrastructure that empowers our customers to build high quality, business critical workloads in a secure, scalable, highly available, and cost effective, hybrid cloud environment. The Brooks Cloud Services and Infrastructure team is seeking a talented and tenured network professional capable of not only managing and implementing network technology, but also dedicated to delivering best-in-class, customer focused, global communication services. Knowing technology is not enough. Delivering technology to meet-or-beat client expectations is the goal of the Cloud Services and Infrastructure team!

 

As a Senior Network Engineer on the Brooks CSI team, you will accept the DevOps culture and principals in network engineering and operations. You will promote network automation including “network as code” concepts, along with continuous development, integration, and deployment of new and existing networking technologies. Hands on experience with automation tools and programming languages is a must. The Senior Network Engineer role is primarily a Tier 3 role and will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated, highly available LAN, WAN, and cloud-based network solutions. The successful candidate has excellent troubleshooting skills and takes an active interest in understanding how the network is utilized by our customers and applications and is constantly looking for opportunities for improvement. 

You Responsibilities:

  • Design, plan, configure and implement site and global networking gateways, routers, switches, firewalls and/or work with external vendors and partners
  • Troubleshoot & resolve network and communication related issues and events
  • Use automation to monitor, configure, and deploy network infrastructure
  • Create and maintain documentation and network related processes/procedures, migration plans, and implementation requirements
  • Collaborate and align with Information Security to maintain a secure network topology using network segmentation, IDS/IPS, and other intrusion detection methods and tools to protect company servers and workstations from cyberthreats
  • Apply and follow processes, best practices, and technology and compliance standards to the support, development, and management of network devices, systems, and services
  • Maintain, manage, and monitor network systems, devices, and services, and ensure the integrity and security of network systems, devices, and services
  • Manage solutions with internal employees, staff and external vendors and partners
  • Integrate new networking technologies with existing services and systems
  • Keep up to date on industry best practices and solutions and make recommendations on any changes to Brooks infrastructure
  • Maintain knowledge of networks related exploits, technology trends and other role relevant fields
  • Partner with vendors to sustain and improve network service operations and availability
  • Lead training and information sharing sesisons for Brooks engineering teams
  • Actively participate in Brooks innovation programs and initiatives

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years managing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise class network systems, devices, and solutions at an engineer level
  • 5+ years managing and maintaining enterprise class software defined wide area network (SD WAN)
  • 3+ years experience with Juniper EX and SRX series required
  • 3+ years experience with Mist wireless access point configuration required
  • Extensive experience with SD WAN products from vendors such as VMWare Velocloud, Juniper SSR, Silver Peak, or Fortinet
  • Recent experience with Juniper Wired Assurance network management platform required. Experience with Juiper JunOS preferred
  • Experience working in mixed operating system environments, such as Windows Server, Windows desktop, and Linux
  • Experience with network automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform
  • Expert level knowledge of network hardware, network device integrated operating systems, network design fundamentals, networking best practices, and network protocols and routing
  • Expert troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to analyze real-time network traffic to assist with incident management/resolution
  • Demonstration of innovation and initiative – always looking to improve network systems and services and assist wherever necessary
  • Possess the ability to work effectively within project teams, as well as possess self-motivation to provide excellent individual contribution
  • Possess the ability to physically rack mount up to 2U devices without additional assistance
  • Some domestic and international travel may be required
  • On-call duties 8-5pm PT, with some Friday night and weekend maintenance window work required.

  • Infrastructure as Code and Automation (Terraform, Ansible, GitHub, python, bash)
  • IT Infrastructure (Dell, VMWare, EC2, Azure VMs, Docker, Lambda, Fargate/ECS)
  • Network Monitoring and Management (SNMP, Logic Monitor, Syslog, Netflow)
  • Intrusion Detection/Prevention (Juniper, Prisma Access)
  • Network Policy and Security Services
  • DNS/DHCP

Compensation:

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,626 per year up to $134,438 per year. Base pay offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
