About the job
Serve as a Kubernetes-focused expert who creates possibilities, solves problems, and establishes strategic relationships with customers. The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Senior Hybrid Cloud Solutions Architect to join us. In this role, you'll need to have a passion for Kubernetes and modern application development, with a technical background in cloud and an understanding of challenges faced by enterprise application developers. You'll help existing customers overcome these challenges by using Red Hat's technologies, including Red Hat OpenShift and Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management for Kubernetes, to adopt an outstanding container platform and deliver modern development practices like DevOps, microservices, and continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD). As a Senior Hybrid Cloud Solutions Architect, you'll also need to have excellent communication and people skills. This role should ideally be located in the Chicago, IL area. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Discover and analyze customer business and technical problems and connect them with the appropriate Red Hat's solutions that align with their needs
  • Create enterprise solutions that increase business value using Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management for Kubernetes, and the rest of the Red Hat portfolio
  • Develop and conduct live demonstrations and educate prospective customers on the capabilities of Red Hat's solutions
  • Guide and assist with proofs of concepts, workshops, and seminars
  • Collaborate with the Product Engineering, Professional Services, Support, and other Sales teams to ensure excellent customer experience with our offerings and solutions
  • Demonstrate expertise by speaking to user groups and at select conferences; share knowledge with your team members in order to allow them to learn from your work


What you will bring

  • 5+ years of experience working as an engineer, consultant, architect, or in an equivalent role; experience in sales is a plus
  • Previous Container-as-a-Service (CaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) experience using Red Hat OpenShift, Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF), Docker Enterprise Edition, Mesosphere, IBM Cloud, or similar technologies
  • Prior experience with container and container orchestration technologies like Linux containers (Docker), Kubernetes, and the Open Container Initiative (OCI) project
  • Understanding of Java development technologies like Spring Boot, WildFly Swarm, or JEE (Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform, WildFly, Oracle WebLogic, or IBM WebSphere)
  • Experience with application build automation tools like Apache Maven, Jenkins, and Git
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; record of developing relationships at technical, management, and executive levels
  • Willingness to travel 30-50%, following Red Hat's COVID-19 guidelines
