About the Team
In the world of advertising, switching your provider is as easy as changing out a single line in a single template file. Yet, Sovrn has incredibly high customer retention rates. Why? We provide a better experience for our publishers. The Advertising team owns the services and interfaces that are the beating heart of Sovrn, and we’re looking for someone to keep those interfaces modern and intuitive
About the Job
As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer on Sovrn’s Advertising Team you will be responsible for these interfaces, and the way they interoperate with our back-end. We exist in open market conditions so time to market and value add are key differentiators. You will play a key role in defining and implementing our next generation of publisher tools
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Greenfield React development of publisher-facing management, reporting, and administration tools
- Contributing to open source projects, such as prebid.js
- Evaluating cloud based platforms and services as needed
- Providing design directives to other software engineers, including how to construct and integrate software components in order to meet all functional and non-functional requirements
- Evaluating and selecting platform technologies and open-source components
- Advocating for and following best design and development practices adhering to Sovrn’s architectural tenets
You believe that implementing the happy path is only the very first step. You thrive on the challenge of making software for the real, messy world, where users don’t do what you expect, and servers aren’t always there when you ping them. You’re comfortable working with a wide variety of people. You can “disagree and commit.” Above all, you love learning and sharing what you know.
The successful candidate will have:
- Solid understanding of the back end, including Nodejs, SQL
- Hands-on experience in designing and building APIs and microservices
- Experience utilizing test automation, CI/CD frameworks and tools
- Proven history working in AWS or other cloud environments
- Bonus: Exposure to Java
We understand that no candidate is perfectly qualified for any job. Our current employees have come to us from across tech, not just ad-tech. And that’s because we prioritize learning as a value. We expect you to learn new things in this role, and we encourage you to apply if your experience is close to what we're looking for.
