As Global Facilities Technology Team (GFTT) Electrical Systems Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for providing direct leadership of Construction Trades with an emphasis in HVAC, Architectural, Building Maintenance, and Equipment move teams. This includes coordination support in design, construction, and execution of internal Micron site projects. In that role you will optimize systems and processes to adapt to changes in the business, meet facilities business commits and develop and monitor metrics to ensure performance. You will lead performance for all direct reports which includes providing mentorship, advice and leadership.
Responsibilities and Tasks
Design and Plan Systems and Buildings

  • Provide system designs for safe, reliable, and efficient operations and maintenance
  • Develop, review, and maintain the Micron Global system, equipment, and component Standards and Specifications
  • Ensure material compatibility
  • Ensure designs align with all applicable standards, codes, and regulations
  • Reviewing of the capacity planning databases (with Basebuild capacities, POC assignments, and actual field conditions) across the network and validating utilization and diversity factor assumptions
  • Participate and/or lead capacity and scenario planning across the network, including evaluation of system and distribution capacity impacts based on scenario changes
  • Prepare periodic system status presentations (system capacity, actual load, and projected loads based on all approved scenarios, key system accomplishments, and challenges/issues)
  • Review and advise on scope, schedule, and cost estimates for Facilities infrastructure additions or modification.

Provide Project Support

  • Provide accurate feedback to other facilities group to optimize construction, engineering and maintenance.
  • Provide support for cost and schedule estimates and justification for approval
  • Provide supervision and coordination of Consultant resources required
  • Ensure appropriate communication with facilities and manufacturing team members
  • Perform timely review of design packages and providing documented comments and feedback as vital.
  • Work with appropriate personnel to address problems or make corrections
  • Ensure that scope meets requestor needs
  • Ensure organizational change procedures are followed.
  • Monitor progress and provide engineering and design support during construction

Provide Technical Support, Leadership, and Expertise

  • Provide directions and mentorship to improve operational efficiencies.
  • Analyze system crafts to identify improvements that will result in better performance, efficiency gains, reduced maintenance, and cost savings
  • Support sites with problem analysis using standard tools and methodologies as requested.
  • Provide Technical leadership and support to Procurement group on vendor qualifications, vendor selection and negotiations as needed.
  • Conduct risk and failure mode and effects analysis
  • Eliminate single points of failure and mitigate risk
  • Benchmark within and external to Micron sites on Engineering and Design Best Known Methods (BKM) of Facilities buildings and systems
  • Develop, own, and maintain Global System Standards, Specifications, and Best Known Method (BKM) standards for your subject area.
  • Maintain pioneering applicable validated experience (Technological Advances and Innovation, Sustainability, Chemical theory, Instrumentation control theory, High purity principles, etc.)
  • Maintain equipment support knowledge (reaction modes/mechanisms, hazard protocol, leak detection, etc.)

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required
  • Minimum 10-year experience in High, Medium, and Low Voltage Electrical Systems Design Maintenance and Operations, Semiconductor, and/or Facilities related Industry
  • Ability to prioritize and schedule workload and work on multiple tasks concurrently
  • Good organizational skills and Service demeanor
  • Excellent communication skills and good team working skills, English Required
  • Self-motivated worker
  • Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing and facilities systems
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 25-40% of the time on average, with up to 50-66% of the time during Critical Project phases or Site Activities
