Department OverviewWatchGuard, a division of Motorola Solutions, Inc. is looking for exceptional Embedded Software Engineers with a passion for innovation, technology, and quality. Senior embedded engineers develop firmware on our newest line of products, working with cutting-edge technology to provide law enforcement with the tools they need in order to serve and protect our communities
Job Description
As a critical member of the embedded development team, the engineer in this role will ensure successful software builds that will maintain the environment.
Strong candidates will be able to actively engage with team members and quickly adapt to a fast-paced technical environment. Engineers in this role will work with senior members of the staff to resolve issues, implement build process optimizations, and identify and resolve field problems related to the build process.
Responsibilities:
● Embedded software development of applications in modern C++11/14.
● Develop code, author and refine stories, execute tests in an Agile embedded development environment.
● Define software APIs and implementation details
● Collaborate with team members using Atlassian and G-suite tools
● Understand and contribute to code and scripts needed for test automation
● Utilize a multi-stage continuous integration build process to produce embedded software loads. Qualifications
● Must possess a strong understanding of object-oriented coding techniques
● Must have experience in software development for embedded Linux devices/appliances.
● Must be able to write and maintain Linux drivers
● Must have ability to understand, develop, and test modern C++.
Basic Requirements
● Must have a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
● Must have 5 years of experience
