Our Developer Experience team is responsible for making sure that Mode’s engineers have everything they need to do their jobs efficiently, correctly and with a minimum of overhead. We are hiring Developer Experience engineers to help us with things like environment and deployment standardization across services, e2e test scaffolding and institutional knowledge management. Apply if your idea of a good time is Dockerizing bare metal applications, streamlining testing strategies or organizing documentation.

What you'll do

• Work with the rest of our Developer Experience team to support our core engineering department’s work as they develop our core product.
• Actively seek out pain points in our engineering flow and turn fixing those into actionable work items.
• Standardize and optimize our cloud infrastructure components.
• Expand and improve our build and release automation process.
• Build and advocate for tools and frameworks that promote self-service, observability and other devops methodologies across the engineering org.
• Collaborate, learn from others and teach those around you.

What we look for

• Passion for solving problems at the systemic level rather than the specific level when possible.
• Ability to recognize opportunities to automate and simplify.
• Knowledge of container-based orchestration and deployment.
• Experience with high level testing strategies, continuous integration, and continuous deployment.
• A sense of joy fueled by decreasing entropy.
• Familiarity with security best practices and networking is a plus.
• Alignment with Mode's value.
