Job Description As a Senior Cloud Micro Services Software Engineer Lead you are passionate about technology, application architecture and design and how technology can fundamentally impact and drive the business. You will bring ideas and innovation to the table and work in a highly collaborative team actively driving, designing and building the next generation collateral management platform. You will work closely with product and user teams to understand their needs and stressors, designing and architecting a game changing platform which moves the business to a transparent event driven intraday collateral management product.
You will lead a highly motivated and professional team of software engineers leveraging each other's strengths and ideas with the opportunity and responsibility to make technical direction decisions on tool choices, design, architecture, and technology choices while mentoring and coaching junior members of the team.
This role requires a variety of skills and capabilities including:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 7+ years software development experience in Java
  • Design thinking approach to problem solving
    • Design for performance and stability
    • Class/Object Design patterns
  • Architectural design patterns
  • Experience with distributed NoSQL databases such as Cassandra.
  • Messaging or data streaming experience such and MQ or Kafka
  • Experience with micro services based architectures
  • Cloud experience
  • Knowledgeable and abreast of industry-wide technology trends and best practices.
  • Ability to technically lead and mentor globally distributed development teams
  • Passionate about building an innovative culture.
  • Not expected to have collateral management experience. Financial industry experience would be beneficial but not required, this is a great opportunity for a strong technologist to enter the financial domain.
