The Job:
We’re looking for an ethical hacker to join our team as a Security Engineer who brings to the table a skillset that combines enterprise experience with emerging technology threat awareness and has a background emersed in Red Team operational activities
Why is this role important to Core Scientific?
As a member of the InfoSec team, you will be an integral aspect of instilling our SecDevOps culture and will be instrumental in discovering and hardening both existing service offerings as well as be a critical part of the design review process, ensuring that InfoSec is a part of step 0, rather than being an afterthought. You will be at the cutting edge of security on bleeding edge technologies. They will perform Game Day scenarios that will lead to marked improvements to our mission-critical services and offerings. Ensure 3rd parties operate in a secure fashion and be at the forefront of compliance enforcement.
Responsibilities:

- Drive Security Solutions that are best in class and scale with Core Scientific’s rapid growth
- Defining & proving hardening aspects
- Automating and orchestration of SecDev tool(s)
- Review industry exploits & present threats to CISO
- Perform end-to-end Application Security Review for new & existing codebase
- Design, showcase, and implement Security best practices
- Define tooling gaps, build prototype/POCs, and reference architecture for On Prem centers
- Mentor and coach organization/individuals on cryptography
- Maintain “Top of Game” skillset, self-driven a must
- Willingness to travel as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Mathematics
- At least 3 years of experience in Information Security
- At least 1 year of experience architecting Security solutions in a multi-tenant environment
- Proficiency in at least one high level programming language (C, C++, Java, Python)
- Deep technical understanding of at least two application security, system security, network security, authentication/authorization protocols, or cryptography and hands-on experience in at least one of the above
- Experience in threat modelling and risk identification
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Results-oriented, high energy, self-motivated
- Proven success performing security reviews for mission critical services
- Broad experience surrounding security threat assessments for network architecture design and security considerations
