Inspire Brands is looking for QA Lead, Data. As part of the Data Platform Delivery Team, this position is responsible for software and data testing design, planning, automated scripting, and execution for a variety of key business facing and internal applications and databases. The QA Test Lead will work closely with developers, data engineers, scrum masters, product owners and other stakeholders throughout the SDLC, executing test sprints, tracking / reporting results, troubleshooting and coordinating defect resolution. The individual should have a strong understanding of SDLC processes, ETL testing and the QA life cycle.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create use cases, user stories, functional specifications, diagrams and technical documentation as needed to articulate requirements
  • Participate in technical meetings between wide array of individuals of QA, business, Dev teams, Managers, BA and other project related team members
  • Work on multiple projects/initiatives across multiple applications daily and collaborate with manual, automation functional and non-functional teams
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute system and user acceptance testing, as well as provide leadership of testing resources
  • Define scope and deliverables for assignment with 'stakeholders' and deliver assignment in accordance with agreed scope, time, financial and quality measures.



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Four year degree with equivalent technical competency
  • 10 years of total testing experience
  • 7 years of experience as a Lead QE and 5 years testing experience in data/ backend/ ETL Ability to influence cross-functional teams (Automation, Performance and Restaurant Functionality QA)



REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS or ABILITIES

  • Testing experience with Snowflake, Databricks, MS SQL Server, Apache Airflow, Tibco MDM, Talend, ADLS is preferred
  • DevOps with Gitlab/Jenkins CI/CD experience
  • Experience in X-Ray Test Management Tool preferred along with similar tools like ALM and Azure Test Manager
  • Ability to work independently and with offshore co-ordination a must
  • Experience creating test cases and test scripts for data warehouse testing, including data completeness testing, boundary testing, data validation based on data models and using source to target mapping documents, validation of transformations, and slowly changing dimensional data
  • Extensive SQL skills that support the testing listed above, including the ability to write simple and complex SQL scripts, store procedures, create and execute on-demand and scheduled SQL jobs to support the testing effort
  • Clear understanding of data warehouse concepts based on experience, demonstrated by the ability to infer what types of tests need to be performed based on the business needs, business rules, data model, source to target mapping documents, and down-stream artifacts
  • Extensive API Testing knowledge using Postman and Swagger
  • Working Knowledge on JSON and XML messaging
  • Able to perform in a fast pace agile environment (2 weeks of sprint), attend sprint planning at the beginning of each sprint and retro at the end of each sprint and mid sprint review/product backlog review (PBR) meeting to go over backlog and prioritized User stories and estimated points
  • Strong organizational and test management skills in cross functional environments
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills will ability to communicate - verbal, written, and presentation skills - at all levels, across multiple functions, and drive participation and collaboration. Demonstrated ability in working with key executives and stakeholders to solve and drive business outcomes
  • Experience in business model or process improvements, with understanding of digital ways of working preferred
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Enjoys seeing impact of work in the organization, highly motivated and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Maverick approach to work, sense of humor, and Intellectual curiosity with a passion for technology, analytics, digital and ways of working trends
