Job Description The public cloud compute engineer in our Software Defined Compute organization will play a key role in Global Technology Infrastructure (GTI) delivering its mission statement as it will be responsible for working with our customers to deliver next generation multi-cloud compute products. This person will be challenged as part of a product team and work alongside others to build out first class public compute products.

  • Engineering of public cloud compute products across AWS, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure.
  • Work as part of a development team to deliver first class public cloud compute products to our internal customers.
  • Partner with other product teams to deliver public cloud products as part of larger, integrated IaaS & PaaS solutions.
  • Solve the companies most challenging cloud problems by building cloud compute solutions.
  • Focus on automation as first-class operating model to ensure stability, sustainability, and velocity during development.
  • Implement acceptance tests to ensure the product meets the business goal and specification.
  • Create efficient integrations between on-premises enterprise systems and cloud platform services.
  • Work with Product Manager and other engineers to provide in-depth technology solutions to their business problems.

Skills & Experience
  • BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of programming experience in at least one programming language, preferably Golang or Python and Java.
  • Agile software development methodology.
  • Technical experience in:
  • Designing, developing, or maintaining production-grade cloud solutions in Cloud ecosystems such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Software Development Lifecycle Methodologies.
  • Demonstrable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience with AWS, experience in Google Cloud and Azure are a plus.
  • Hands on experience or knowledge with Terraform, HCL, and AWS CloudFormation.
  • Experience or knowledge in version control system - git.
  • Experience with Jenkins.
  • Networking - TCP/IP, DNS, Firewalls.
  • Experience with Public Cloud Storage
  • Experience or knowledge of Operating Systems - Linux (RHEL), Windows in Public Cloud Environments.
  • Cyber security fundamentals and working knowledge.
  • Experience in production rollout and infrastructure configuration.
  • Experience with production monitoring and alerting for enterprise software.
  • Conduct code reviews and strive for improvement in software engineering quality.
  • Hands on experience with leveraging CI/CD pipelines to rapidly build & test application code.
  • Experience in developing software solutions leveraging Test Driven Development (TDD)
  • A systems thinker with delivery experience using Lean and Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
  • Bonus skills:

    • Cloud Foundry
    • Docker/Kubernetes.
