.Here's the Gist:

Wolfspeed Power Discrete Products team is seeking a Product Engineer with an interest in driving yield/capacity/continuous improvement projects related to new product introductions and development, as well as working collaboratively with the Wolfspeed Operations team to improve the quality of our power product portfolio. This Product Engineering role is a great opportunity to have a large individual impact on shaping how Wolfspeed operates as we continue to innovate and grow as a semiconductor powerhouse in the silicon carbide landscape!

The Day-to-Day :

  • Set up and oversight of new product processes that can span from epitaxial growth all the way to OSAT packaging.
  • Yield analysis, statistical analysis, lot status and incident review throughout the development cycle to ensure yield, reliability and cost goals meet the product definition requirements.
  • Participate in the development of process FMEA and control plans for new products.
  • Document, summarize and report on project status to key stakeholders, communicating deliverable progress and product specific risks.
  • Evaluation and integration of new technology and process improvements into the new product roadmap.
  • Identify and qualify test plan improvements to improve quality, reliability and ensure optimal yield and cost targets.
  • Participate in RMA, MRB, and PCRB activities to ensure key risks are mitigated throughout the entire portfolio and to ensure risks are considered in the commercialization, improvement and standardization processes.
  • Ensure validation and datasheet characterization meets requirements of product definition and ensure consistency across product portfolio.
  • Specify package build specifications for new power devices.



This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements) :

  • This position requires the lawful ability to access technical data, information, and areas controlled by United States export control laws and regulations.
  • At least 2 years of industry experience in product engineering, test, process integration or process engineering in a semiconductor wafer fabrication facility.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor device fabrication and assembly technology
  • Exceptional data analysis and problem-solving skills, experience with JMPÔ or similar software, and solid understanding of DOE, ANOVA and Yield Analysis.
  • Independent, self-driven mindset able to identify, confront, and resolve difficult problems.
  • Demonstrated the ability to influence and drive cross-functional teams for product deliverables.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Chemical Engineering or closely related field
  • Candidate must be a US citizen or Green Card holder



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Six sigma black belt, green belt or significant Quality system training and experience
  • Experience in silicon carbide based wafer fab process engineering, package processing, or process integration.
  • Experience with semiconductor product development and commercialization
  • Power semiconductor device physics knowledge / working knowledge of power semiconductor testing, qualification and reliability.
  • Experience and understanding of DFMEA, PFMEA and Control Plan processes and linkages.
  • Knowledge and experience of Product Qualification to Automotive standards, particularly AEC-Q101 product standards.
  • Master's Degree in Electrical/Chemical Engineering or closely related field
  • Object oriented programming skills (e.g. VB.NET)
