Principal Software Applications Engineer
About the job
The Red Hat Business team is looking for a Principal Software Applications Engineer to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will design, build, test, deploy, and maintain integration routes and services for Red Hat's finance and accounting systems. You will write unit, integration, and performance tests and benchmarks to ensure that software requirements are fulfilled and system performance standards are being met.
What you will do
- Perform or assist with performing integration tests to confirm that data is successfully transferred from one system to another or made available on demand as needed
- Act as a team lead for finance and accounting integrations by collaborating with other principal engineers to set team norms and standards, peer review code from junior team members to enforce code and quality standards, deliver technical presentations to other IT teams, and lead solution demonstrations for business stakeholders
- Assess emerging open source technologies and perform fit-gap analysis for future development opportunities within the team
- Support production by addressing automated alerts from monitoring solutions, data transmission errors, and security notifications like expired or soon-to-expire passwords and certificates
- Turn business objectives from the Finance team stakeholders into technical solutions, including replicating data from one system to another, or exposing data on demand
What you will bring
- Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in computer science, computer engineering, or related and 9 years of experience in the job offered or a related role
- 5 years of experience with: JMS messaging and MQ; integrating financial domains and applications like invoices and purchase orders; and relational database management system (RDBMS) development
- 3 years of experience with: Java Enterprise Edition (Java EE); Spring
- Boot framework; and as a team leader reviewing code requirements.
- 2 years of experience with: Red Hat Fuse and Apache Camel; and Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform.
