Principal Application Architect
Job Description
An Application Architect plays an important role in the design and analysis of software projects. They create or define configuration of new applications or improve existing applications, run software tests, develop product prototypes, create technical documents, evaluate application technologies and make recommendations for best uses for the service line or large scale segments of work streams supported. In-depth knowledge of the business line supported as well as a deep understanding of the technologies used to support workflows and how the technologies interact, interface or integrate with each other. The application architect also serves as both a mentor and a trainer for other IT staff in areas of configuration or development of software as well as the expert in how multiple systems and platforms work or may work together.
Experience
Required: Healthcare - 7 years, Information System Support - Previous experience, Information Technology - 7 years

Other
Technical or EHR configuration specific to the technologies being supported. This is an expert position and a deep understanding of the technologies is required.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience
- Minimum of 10 - 12 years of experience related to IT Management or other information technology solutions architecture role
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with Financial Software in a health plan setting, with knowledge of QNXT a plus
- Managed Care Organization, Medicare and Medicaid, Commercial Health Plan operational knowledge and experience
- Demonstrated ability to communicate the complexities of technical programs
- Proficiency with information technologies in a secure network environment
- Expertise with personal computers in a secure network environment and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and SharePoint) or similar software
