In this role, you have a great opportunity to connect with experienced IT professionals across the globe and will be considered a vital part of monitoring Humana's infrastructure. We are looking for someone who is capable of installing, configuring, and troubleshooting data center resources for non-desktop computer hardware. Those resources include but aren't limited to switches, routers, network hubs, and servers. The Network Operations Engineers' work assignments vary and frequently require interpretation, collaboration and the independent determination of the appropriate courses of action when completing the task at hand.

Responsibilities

This is a nightshift opportunity. Please refrain from applying if you are not interested in working from 6:00PM to 6:00AM.

The Network Operations Engineer maintains access control, data integrity and file system security for the computer/data center and infrastructure environment. Monitors, tracks and records system performance and utilization metrics. Communicates highly technical information to both technical and nontechnical personnel. Recommends process, hardware and software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgrades, to improve computer/data center and infrastructure efficiency. May participate in development of information technology and infrastructure projects. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or Equivalent Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of corporate IT Operations experience, with server and networking skills.
  • Ability and desire to quickly learn new concepts, technical skills, and technologies
  • Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
  • Strong communication skills with ability to interact with business and technical representatives
  • Experience supporting live production infrastructure, troubleshooting and resolving issues under pressure
  • Building collaborative relationships with team members, fostering a productive team environment, and coaching staff with timely meaningful feedback
  • Our Department of Defense Contract requires U.S. citizenship for this position.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Cloud certification on any major cloud provider
  • A general understanding of how to utilize Network Monitoring Tools
  • Development experience in Python, Java, C# etc.
  • IT Automation experience in at least one of the following platforms: ServiceNow, Ansible, PowerShell, Puppet
  • CCNA
  • PowerShell Knoweldge
  • Azure Certifications
  • Working Knowledge with Linux Terminal, Server 2012, 2016 and 2019.
  • RSAT (Remote Server Administrative Tools) experience
  • Working with Network Monitoring tools (Splunk, Solarwinds/VIM, Network Node Manager, Thousand Eyes and ITOM)



Additional Information

For this job, associates are required to be fully COVID vaccinated, including booster or undergo weekly COVID testing and wear a face covering while at work. The weekly testing will need to be done through an approved Humana vendor, and unvaccinated associates should follow all social distancing and masking protocols if they are required to come into a Humana facility or work outside of their home.
