Model Validation Developer
Job Summary
The Model Validation Developer will assist with the validation of F&G’s Actuarial Modeling activities through the maintenance and enhancement of Microsoft Excel based validation tools for various use cases (i.e. valuation, rate setting, ALM) and product lines. These tools are essential to the model governance process and require advanced programming knowledge to efficiently maintain. Other tools such as Python may be used in conjunction with Excel in the future.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with the development of user-friendly, efficient validation tools in Excel
- Provide support in implementing necessary changes to existing tools using efficient programming algorithms
- Improve Excel workbooks by consolidating inputs, utilizing intuitive formulas, and removing any unused or redundant data and tabs
- Create and maintain comprehensive, clear documentation
- Enhancement of validation tools to create repeatable and scalable process
- Collaborate with teammates to efficiently complete projects
Experience and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required – Preferred in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or related technical field.
- 1-3 years of related technical experience
- Experience using a computer language such as Python or R
- General knowledge of life insurance or annuity products a plus
