Manager, Software Engineering
Q2 is seeking a Senior Software Development Manager for the Banking as a Service (BaaS) Core Engineering Team. This individual will be responsible for leading an innovative team which focuses on an industry leading BaaS solution and enables FinTechs and neo banks to disrupt the banking industry.
We are looking for a servant leader who gets excited about building and mentoring engineers, but also loves to work on high scale/high volume systems. We need someone who can see gaps, and plug them. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee sprint planning, retrospective and daily scrum meetings
- Work closely with direct reports as well as other engineering teams and other teams within the business.
- Instill best practices for software development and help encourage use and evolution of coding standards
- Responsible for ensuring that all security, availability, confidentiality and privacy policies and controls are adhered to
- Collaborate with other leaders across teams to ensure efficiency and limit dependencies.
- Recruit top talent, in collaboration with Q2's recruiting team, as well as growing existing talent
- Perform regular 1 on 1 sessions with direct reports and build a culture of giving and receiving feedback.
- Effectively coach/manage remote employees.
- Participate in on-call rotation, to assist on call developers during after hours incidents.
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:
- 7+ years of previous development experience needed
- Must have at least 3+ years’ experience managing development teams (5+ years required for Senior Manager)
- Experience in a client interfacing role required
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills
- Knowledge and experience in the banking industry preferred
- Experience integrating applications with core banking platforms desired
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to remain patient with non-technical customers
- Experience managing teams in a multi-team/high scale product environment preferred
