What you will do
- Use your technical and management experience to lead the team to achieve our organization's goals
- Lead the software development team with a focus on a hybrid cloud software delivery model
- Collaborate with management and other leaders to continuously identify and implement team process improvements by soliciting feedback from all areas of the business to aid in making the needed improvements
- Build and support Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) in alignment with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform
- Set reachable goals for team members and provide guidance to encourage work productivity
- Provide estimates and initial assessment for proposed development efforts
- Work closely with product management to achieve business priorities, while balancing your team's need to address improvements, technical debt, and other engineering imperatives
What you will bring
- 5+ years of experience in building and delivering software products
- 3+ years of managing a team of software engineers
- Great ability to coach developers and helping them improve their skills and grow their careers
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and work under pressure
- Comfortable in an agile, continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD), and DevOps work style
- Experience with project management tools and methodologies
- Proven troubleshooting skills with a passion for problem solving, investigation, and learning new technologies
- Modest and open in order to respect the work and progress which the team has already achieved
The following are considered a plus:
- Good understanding of cloud technologies; proven experience working in private and public cloud or Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) environments such as AWS, GCP, Azure.
- Knowledge of Ansible, Python, and Linux
- Experience managing a geographically distributed team
- Development experience in a professional setting, preferably in a senior-level role within SaaS or Enterprise software organizations
