Job Description
OPT Servicing is looking for a Software Engineering Manager to drive two application development teams of 5-8 App Developers in delivering modern technology solutions within our organization.
As a Manager, Software Engineer you are responsible for the overall planning, execution and success of complex software solutions to meet our customer's needs. As a lead within our Software Engineering Group, you will dive head-first into creating innovative solutions that advance businesses and careers. You'll lead an inspiring and curious team of technologists dedicated to improving the design, analytics, development, coding, testing and application programming that goes into creating high quality software and new products. You'll be tasked with keeping the team and other key stakeholders up to speed on the progress of what's being developed. Coming in with an understanding of the importance of end-to-end software development-such as Agile frameworks-is key.
Technical Experience:

  • Technical proficiency in Java 8 (or newer), Spring/Spring Boot
  • Hands on experience developing and deploying applications to cloud platforms namely AWS & Cloud Foundry
  • Hands on experience with web technologies (e.g. HTTP, XML, REST, HTML, etc.) and building applications with microservice architecture or API concepts
  • Experience with distributed streaming platform (Kafka) and knowledge of IBM MQ message broker
  • Experience with NoSQL databases (Cassandra, MongoDB, etc.)
  • Experience with web-based version control tools (GIT, Bitbucket)
  • Expertise in application, data and infrastructure architecture discipline and understanding of J2EE design patterns
  • Experience in DevOps - build, deployment, integration, code management and similar tools like Jenkins, Maven, automated deployment etc.
  • Experience in developing software using domain-driven design (DDD) approach
  • Ability to negotiate, communicate and deliver effective Automated Test solutions to both Development and QA teams
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies


  • Master or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Information Systems
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience with Java, J2EE and related technologies
  • Proven leadership experience and qualities including sense of ownership, strong communication skills, creativity, initiative, attention to detail, mentoring/coaching/leading other developers
