Role Description:

This Specialist Solution Engineer will focus exclusively on supporting our foundation and/or grantmaking customers. This Solution Engineer will partner closely with the sales team to focus on driving sales growth and customer success for our solution portfolio. Leveraging their deep experience in grantmaking and foundations, this individual is a master storyteller of the vision of Nonprofit Cloud. If you possess intellectual curiosity, great problem solving skills and an unwavering belief that the right technology can solve virtually any problem, then you are the ideal candidate for the job. Prior experience with enterprise technology selling in the grantmaking sector is highly desirable. Excellent communication and presentation skills are a must. Finally, the ability to take a complex technology solutions and explain it in a simple way is critical. If you believe you have these skills, we want to talk to you.

Typical day in the life of a Salesforce.org SE looks like

    • Serve as a foundation and grantmaking subject matter expert for Salesforce.org's Solution Engineering team. As a trusted advisor to our prospects and customers, you will work cross-functionally with post-sales, product, and marketing team members to drive growth and customer success.
    • Partner with a team of core Solution Engineers within Salesforce.org as a functional overlay to provide expertise in foundation and grantmaking best practices
    • Work directly with our customer and prospect community by aligning our solutions and technical capabilities to business challenges, creating a clear story of differentiated value
    • Plan and deliver discovery workshops with customers at all levels including business users, IT and executive leadership, tailoring your questioning and approach effectively to the audience to identify their challenges.
    • Design innovative solutions to address these challenges, conceive those solutions on the Salesforce platform and present customized demonstrations back to the customers
    • Respond effectively to RFIs and RFPs
    • Stay abreast of all foundation and grantmaking industry trends and contribute to the community via thought leadership
    • Attain quarterly and annual objectives that you will define collaboratively with your manager
    • Be prepared to travel domestically for customer facing meetings and presentations
    • Function effectively in a fast-paced high-energy market segment and successfully balance multiple projects in a team-selling environment



Necessary Skills

    • 5+ years of relevant foundation and/or grantmaking technology expertise
    • Direct SE/sales experience with proven experience driving business value for customers
    • C-Level communicator with a strong executive presence
    • Strong leadership skills in program management, strategy and stakeholder alignment
    • Entrepreneur, innovator and driven
    • Knowledge of Cloud SaaS solutions, related applications and web technology
    • B.S. Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, MBA, desired but not required


Desired Skills:

    • Experience as a grantmaking practitioner (or systems owner) for a large foundation
    • Expertise in Salesforce solutions and technology
    • Knowledge of the Salesforce ecosystem
    • Certified Salesforce Administrator or Trailhead Ranger
