The Full stack Engineer is responsible for providing technology leadership and hands-on contributions towards a global team of Engineers to deliver relevant, timely and insightful information to the business. You will be responsible for developing code and configuring software that builds fantastic single page application for our clinical customers.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop innovative solutions to meet the needs of the business
  • Interact with business partners and other stakeholders including executive leadership
  • Use Modern, Cloud enabled, Agile Dev/Ops approaches to enrich, transform and analyze data.
  • Provide technology leadership - Lead technology decisions, drive product implementation and delivery
  • Review code and provide feedback relative to best practices, improving performance etc.
  • Demonstrate substantial depth of knowledge and experience in data engineering, API development and graph-based approaches to analytic development
  • Provide execution delivery leadership - Support the implementation and drive it to stable state in production
  • Provide alternate design solutions along with project estimates
  • Troubleshoot production support issues post-deployment and come up with solutions as required
  • Drive the team and collaborate to meet project timelines
  • Review project deliverables for completeness, quality, and compliance with established project standards
  • Upholds enterprise policy guidelines and recommends new and improved guidelines

Required Qualifications:
• 5+ years of Data Engineering experience • 5+ years of Java API or data externalization experience • Experience working in an Agile environment (Scrum/SAFe) • Two or more of the following:

  • Experience with Designing and developing streams-based data processing. Kafka, Spark, Scala, Go.
  • Experience with designing and developing REST APIs / microservices. Spring, Spring boot, Java, Go, NoSQL Databases
  • Exposure to graph databases and graph-based data analysis. Neo4j, TigerGraph, Cosmos DB or similar
  • Exposure to BigData stack - Hadoop, HBase, Cassandra or similar NOSQL


Preferred Qualifications:
• Healthcare Industry experience • Experience with graph databases and graph-based data analysis. Neo4j, TigerGraph, Cosmos DB or similar • Experience working with to BigData/NOSQL stack - Hadoop, HBase,Cassandra or similar • Exposure using NLP or Machine learning based approaches with Python or TensorFlow

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado/Connecticut/Nevada residents is $94,500 to $171,700. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
