Job Description The Application Development Software Engineer VP will be responsible for complete end to end delivery responsibilities of Fraud and Risk Decision Applications. The application portfolio is targeting a multi-year strategic initiative, utilizing big data analytics, cloud platform and machine learning strategies to develop and implement services to help safeguard customer and firm from fraud and risk exposure. Candidate will work collaboratively with all participants including internal and external dependency teams. Candidate will work closely with Business and Technology Management to define and continue to refine strategic roadmap for these set of applications. Candidate will be accountable to Business and Technology Management for end to end application scoping, planning, development, implementation and post-implementation maintenance and support. Candidate may also be responsible for any staff reporting into them for their performance, development and career management processes.
The individual should be a subject matter expert in technologies such as Java, public and private cloud platforms, CI/CD, Oracle and no-SQL databases. Big-data knowledge would be helpful.

As such, this individual must be comfortable with flexibility in their role. They must be able to operate in a relaxed, yet confident manner, without explicit hierarchy and structure governing work. An affinity towards, and appreciation of, an influence-based and entrepreneurial culture is critical for success. Candidate should possess solid resource management and articulation skills.
Additionally, you will be involved in application issue resolution and provide level three support for any specific issue related to their application suite that needs application development support.
Key Responsibilities include:

• Manage and Deliver book of work and overall application portfolio.
• People management, communication, presentation and articulation skills.
• Provide strategic technology directions in order to ensure required level of functionality and performance expectations are met.
• Manage risk, improve reliability, ensure compliance with risk policy and audit requirements.
• Drive technology innovations, improve productivity and control through automation and standardization
• Evolve application technologies aligned to target state roadmap while maintain current state.
• Collaborate and build relationships with other development teams, operate team, controls team and business clients.
• Establish and regularly update, multi-year strategic target state platform
• Drive annual planning process for in-scope deliverables
• Establish and regularly manage financial and staffing plans to deliver on schedule and within budget
• Acting as a role model for all best practices, ensuring consistency across entire team.

Qualifications

• Excellent analytical, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills coupled with a strong work ethic.
• 10+ Years technical expertise in cloud based Java Microservices, High volume Real Time & Batch application processing.
• 10+ years' people & application management experience with full development lifecycle from inception through implementation.
• Experience with development, deployment, and support of large-scale distributed applications in a mission-critical production environment.
• Experience with Change Management and Incident Management process
• Ability to work independent as well as in a team environment
• Able to take the challenges of new technology and provide a production worthy output.
• Be a self-starter and be able to reach out to various groups to get the requirements to completion
• Experience managing offshore/onshore model and mentoring less experienced team members.
• Strong project management and team management skills e.g. planning, budgetary control, people management etc.
• Ability to lead, delegate, motivate, and support resources to achieve high delivery demands.
• Positive attitude, strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
