Job Summary
This Lead Software Engineer position will be a part of the technology team within the Disney Signature Experiences (DSE) organization. The team supports the sales, marketing, commerce, and self-service/fulfillment capabilities for an emerging line of business. This includes the front-end websites and mobile application used by guests as well as the core services which integrate with other parts of the application eco system. As part of the team, the role will help deliver new capabilities to take full advantage of cloud native architecture and microservices and the continued support and sustainment thereafter.
Responsibilities/ You Will
  • Participate the development of software fixes, enhancements, components, and new software systems
  • Develop technical solutions that meet specifications and that impact future developments
  • Develop specifications for assigned components, projects or fixes
  • Lead programming, testing and debugging of applications or fixes to existing applications
  • Create protocols, documentation and tools for installation and maintenance
  • Participate in setting the architectural direction for software development projects
  • Be a high-level technical resource and "go-to" person for less experienced developers, providing technical guidance
  • Recommend improvements to processes, technology, and interfaces that improve the effectiveness of the team

Basic Qualifications/ You Will Have
  • 10+ years of web development, including experience with JavaScript, Java, HTML, CSS, and Ajax
  • Experience with Single Page Applications and responsive applications built using JavaScript frameworks like Angular, React, and Express.
  • Experience with server-side scripting like PHP or a similar object-oriented server-side scripting language.
  • Experience working with Node.js
  • Experience developing and consuming REST-based web services with JSON data

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing solutions with Adobe Experience Manager
  • Experience designing for container-based deployment (Docker)
  • Experience drafting requirements and functional specifications
  • Content Management System Architecture knowledge
  • Streaming video architecture and development

Required Education
  • Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science or Related Fields or Equivalent Professional Experience
