We help defend industrial organizations that provide us with the necessities of modern civilization: running water, functioning electricity, and safe industrial working environments.

Dragos is looking for a Lead Hardware Engineer to join its System Engineering team. This role will work cross-functionally with other teams to provide expert advice on the design, implementation, and tactical troubleshooting of hardware. They ensure quality documentation exists for all systems, while also providing guidance and mentorship to other Senior Engineers. We set our goal as best in class and are looking for team players who set these same standards for themselves in a highly collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work with hardware manufacturers and vendors to implement processes around hardware and firmware locking, product imaging, and creative ways to solve supply chain constraints
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to define product requirements and provide subject matter expertise around hardware related topics
  • Develop and implement a hardware benchmark testing suite to establish performance baselines for all supported hardware, while also helping set performance KPIs for our hardware
  • Partner with the Performance Engineering team to optimize our application stack on our existing and new hardware.
  • Collaborate on all hardware documentation and ensures all information is valid and in line with expectations
  • Identify gaps and opportunities for improvement of existing solutions
  • Directly contributes to feature and tech debt work, while also ensuring realistic estimates are defined for said work

  • Experience working through an entire product development lifecycle
  • Deep understanding of server hardware component technologies and industry roadmaps, including CPU/SOC, memory, NIC/networking, and storage & storage subsystems.
  • Experience building out and implementing a hardware benchmarking suite
  • Strong technical leadership skills, with the ability to champion and drive the hardware domain within the organization

Compensation

  • Base Salary: $192,000
  • Salary + Benefits + Equity = $320,000
  • Comprehensive benefits plan (medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401K with match)
  • Equity at Dragos is quickly growing and the total compensation under-represents the future growth and refresh program. This will be discussed on the first call with the Dragos recruiter.
