Job Description:

Successful candidate will be responsible for supporting Middleware utilities (such as IBM MQ & SOLACE) and serving as a core member of AET engineering team that takes ownership and drives design, development and implementation of Middleware applications. This role will also include operational readiness for new utility solutions and optimizing current processes. This role is also responsible for working closely with Vendor teams currently supporting the infrastructure and AET Engineering, application development and production support teams to identify underlying causes of system issues, facilitating resolution and identify trends that continuously improve the customer experience.

* Position is located in Phoenix, AZ. All applicants must be willing to relocate to work at our Phoenix, AZ location. Cost of relocation not included. *

Job Responsibilities:

  • Good Understanding of Middleware products such as IBM MQ & SOLACE
  • Be responsible for WebSphere / Mainframe MQ & SOLACE messaging infrastructure
  • Administer and handle MQ Point to Point; Cluster Full Repositories and SOLACE appliance configuration
  • Make decisions on Architecture and evaluate new solutions and focus on continued improvements
  • Lead Service Restoration bridge calls for application and/or Infrastructure outages
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) efforts to avoid repeat occurrence of issues
  • Drive major version firmware upgrades, performance enhancements and infrastructure migrations initiatives
  • Work with Engineering and Operations team to identify manual processes; design and engineer solutions to automate and optimize current processes
  • Work with application teams to understand developer issues and lead the middleware team towards improving overall developer experience.
  • Collaborate with IBM MQ & SOLACE product teams to monitor, track and resolve product issues and bugs
  • Lead day to day operations and provide 24x7 support for critical platforms
  • Lead Service Restoration bridge calls for application and/or infrastructure changes
  • Collaborate with vendor partners and other AET teams to resolve major outages
  • Acquire deep understanding and mentor and cross-train team members on need basis.


Ideal candidate:

  • Should possess strong knowledge and understanding of network and security concepts such as load balancing and routing, TLS, TCP, UDP, IP etc., should also possess UNIX shell scripting experience
  • Has hands-on expertise with Java application design & software development; IBM MQ (Both Mainframe and Distributed). Knowledge and experience of SOLACE is a plus
  • Should aim to learn industry leading/innovative technologies and solutions
  • Is open to innovation and experimentation; engage in fun and outcome oriented culture and is always ready to try new concepts without fear of failure
  • Is collaborative and a core contributor, enabling the team to be more effective and productive
  • Familiar with Agile DevOps framework.

Education & Experience:

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years of demonstrated experience with systems analysis/programming, incorporating: design methodology, Infrastructure operations support or engineering
  • Hands-on experience with a variety of software languages, operating systems, or network protocols
  • Practical application using Agile or other rapid application development methods
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field required or equivalent experience
  • Good Understanding and experience in Middleware products such as IBM MQ and SOLACE
  • Strong development experience with building applications using Java technologies, Node.js, JBoss is a plus
  • Proven experience in Financial Services Industry is a plus
  • Good communication and Interpersonal skills
