What you will do

  • Sensormatic Solutions is partnering with our customers to become the leader in creating a state of the art "Sensormatic Platform" by designing and delivering the vision for the most up-to-date, state of the art and holistic technology solutions for Retail. Our business is growing at a very fast pace. We are adding positions to our teams throughout the US. This is a virtual role that must live in the United States.
  • Our Platform is a SaaS offering primarily hosted in the cloud (the majority in the Google Cloud Platform). It provides real time solutions for our customers across three primary product lines: Loss Prevention, Inventory, and Traffic
  • As the Global Leader, DevOps & AIOps, you will lead and grow three Global Teams:
  • Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) - Responsible for Proactive and Reactive support of the SaaS product lines as well as gatekeepers for all Staging and Production deployments.
  • Enterprise Data Group (EDG) - Responsible for Database Engineering, Database Administration, Data Retention and Restoration for a very wide range of Database technologies (Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL, Postgres, BigQuery, Spanner, BigTable, Redis among many others). Also, responsibilities for BI and ML assistance
  • DevOps / Infrastructure - Multi-functional team that serves as a Center of Excellence for DevOps processes, tools, etc for all Engineering teams - especially CICD, deployment, and Infrastructure requirements. Also responsible for all Cyber Security planning, architecting, monitoring, and resolution (dotted line responsibilities to JCI Security team). Additional requirements include: All cloud engineering (GCP & AWS) requirements, Linux expertise, Networking expertise (circuits, load balancers, VPNs, firewalls, etc), Kubernetes/Docker/Containers, Jenkins, etc.

How you will do it

  • Define and develop the architecture, roadmap, and standards for the DevOps, AIOps, SRE, and EDG teams that will align with the customer business objectives.
  • Work with Sensormatic Solutions Managers and Project Managers to scope projects and deployment plans.
  • Provide architecture thought leadership and actively participate in the design, implementation, and roll-out efforts.
  • Will demonstrate technical skills, absorb professional knowledge quickly, and perform all assigned technical tasks, including study, analysis, prototyping to prove out complex problems, and the ability to perform data and integration mapping.
  • Will develop and support a standard set of deliverables, documents, and base outputs for the DevOps and Engineering teams to be used in the CICD process.
  • A primary objective of the team and the role are to drive higher product value and differentiation to our solutions.
  • Establish a cadence to ensure all Sensormatic engineering teams are committed to aligning with the standards of excellence established by the SRE/DevOps/AIOps/EDG teams.

What we look for

  • Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or related field
  • At least 15 years of relevant IT experience, including exposure to business planning, systems analysis, and application development with a digital security strength. We are seeking a top-tier technology professional with a consistent track record of success, who is a consultant, experience with designing technology solutions, collaborates effectively with internal and external customers, and can lead sophisticated projects while contributing to results.
  • Proficiency in a broad set of information technology tools, methods and architectures, architecture expertise in multiple application platforms, an understanding of current and future technical applications and architectures being driven by the industry.
  • Deep cloud and data center experience (preferably Google), with a good understanding of current and future security profiles
  • Depth in Networking - both design and practical requirements, Linux, and Kubernetes (or other container technologies)
  • Very good at process review and creation - especially around workflow and SDLC
  • Expertise in Change Control
  • Experience in crafting, reviewing and implementing bespoke, SaaS, microservice systems
  • Expertise in Monitoring solutions, proper implementation, common mistakes, etc. With expertise on developing an SLO/SLA framework for the business to utilize as a selling differentiator with customers
  • Expertise in running and minimizing cloud costs, especially being able to serve as a liaison to Finance on costs and how to back charge BUs according to utilization
  • Experience in acquiring industry certifications such as SOC2 or similar
  • Experience in running large technology budgets
  • Eloquent and persuasive - Can present as a "front of the room" leader, and influence decisions
  • Demonstrates a commitment to integrity and quality in business.
