Seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Project Engineer to work within an integrated program office of Air Force, Aerospace, SE&I, SETA, and contractors across the Evolved Strategic SATCOM (ESS) system. Candidate will apply systems engineering expertise to ensure needed capabilities are translated and applied to acquisition development efforts, promoting integration of leading-edge technology, shared services, and rapid acquisition efficiencies.
What You'll Be Doing
- Serving as a senior advisor to the customer formulating, evaluating, and overseeing strategies for space acquisition efforts to achieve architectural vision and technical objectives.
- Apply systems engineering principles in support of the prototyping and fielding phases of the program, ensuring synchronization of government and contractors across all program elements.
- Providing the customer with assessments of the space contractor's ability to meet documented requirements with their proposed system architecture designs.
- Providing insight to Aerospace leadership and the customer on risks, issues, opportunities and associated mitigation strategies and corrective actions.
- Directing ETG personnel to effectively respond to systems engineering and acquisition related needs with the delivery of quality products, technical position papers, and briefings.
- Maintaining effective working relationships with customer leadership, contractors, ETG and other supporting contractors.
- Monitoring and assess contractor performance and delivery of the products and/or services under space, ground, and crypto contracts.

What You Need to be Successful (Project Engineer)
Minimum Requirements:
- Systems engineering skills including the ability to understand and explain how specific issues are connected to the broader program
- Project leadership skills, including the ability to work independently and lead a team to solutions
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or science from a recognized institution or a related STEM field
- 8 or more years) of increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experience working across government programs (includes time acquiring applicable MS, MBA, and/or PhD)
- Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams with Aerospace, government, and contractor personnel
- Travel to contractor and vendor facilities as required
- This position requires active Secret clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
What You Need to be Successful (Sr. Project Engineer)
Minimum Requirements:
- A track record of demonstrating systems engineering skills including the ability to understand, explain, and present to the customer how specific issues are connected to the broader program
- Experience with project leadership, including the ability to work independently and lead a team to solutions
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or science from a recognized institution or a related STEM field
- 12 or more years of increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experience working across government programs (includes time acquiring applicable MS, MBA, and/or PhD)
- Exhibited ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams with Aerospace, government, and contractor personnel
- Travel to contractor and vendor facilities as required
- This position requires active Secret clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
- Advanced technical degree in engineering, science, physics, or related field
- Understanding of space system acquisition
- Experience with digital engineering concepts and tools
- Knowledge of crypto/cyber security concepts and principles
- Project management and leadership experience
- MILSATCOM program office experience
- Familiarity with Aerospace culture and prior experience coordinating with Engineering & Technology Group (ETG)
- Active TS and SBI clearance or ability to attain
