Job Description Working as an Architect, your passion for technology and thirst for innovation will help shape the future of global digital commerce, now and for years to come. You'll collaborate with internal teams and business leaders alike, creating strategically sound Target State Architectures. You'll have a major say in budgeting, hiring, mentoring, setting priorities and fostering a client-centric environment where everyone learns and grows. At the end of the day, your work will have tremendous and positive impact, whether it's in-house, in collaboration with technologists across JPMorgan Chase & Co.'s global technology community or in partnership with some of the most important tech firms in the world.
The Finance, Risk, Data and Controls (FRDC) organization builds applications and provides technology solutions for corporate functions across JPMorgan Chase, including Global Finance, Corporate Treasury and Risk Management. As a key member of the Global Finance Tech Engineering & Architecture team, you will be responsible for designing and building scalable cloud-native data solutions. In this role, you will work closely with a world class team of engineers and architects to deliver cloud-native data capabilities that will be used to inform key business decisions. You will engineer repeatable and scalable frameworks to successfully manage large amounts of data, ensuring compliance with data classification requirements while maintaining data integrity and accessibility.
Specific day to day responsibilities include:
  • Partnering with business stakeholders to understand their needs and developing the future state architecture.
  • Partnering with technology teams to develop the future state.
  • Developing and maintaining a multi-horizon roadmap.
  • Coming up with the architecture for solutions, balancing the schedule needs, the roadmap, business and technology strategies.
  • Communicating the architecture to senior business and technology leaders.
  • Driving solutions to both internal and public cloud infrastructures.
  • Overseeing the cost trade-offs.

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or a related field• Deeply passionate about learning and innovating using the latest and greatest in big data engineering, microservices, cloud and open source• Demonstrated ability to learn and implement new technologies quickly• Strong ability to troubleshoot and debug complex, distributed systems• Keen attention to detail and ability to produce quality results in an evolving, fast-paced environment
Solid foundation in one or more of the following:
• Systems design for individual applications and/or across applications• Software engineering and object-oriented programming, using languages such as Python, Scala, Java• Open source frameworks/libraries/platforms, such as Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, Apache Kafka, Kubernetes• Data architecture, data warehousing, data modeling and/or data manipulation, such as using SQL, Stored Procedures, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL
Nice to Have:
• Experience working in big data (high volume, high velocity and/or high variety data) environment, working with structured, semi-structured and/or unstructured data• Sound understanding of various data solution patterns and when to use them: ETL/ELT, RDBMS, Normalization/De-normalization, Key-Value, In-Memory, Wide Column, Columnar, Graph, Text Indexing, Streaming, Messaging• Experience designing and implementing data solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS), using offerings such as: S3, Athena, Glue, EMR, Lambda, RDS, EC2, DynamoDB, Elasticache, Redshift• Knowledge of traditional big data systems, such as Hadoop, Impala, Sqoop, Oozie, Cassandra, Hive, HBase• Experience with various Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau, Looker, Superset, D3.js• Experience building APIs, web services and/or data-as-a-service offerings• Experience with containers, Kubernetes, Docker, Amazon EKS, Amazon ECS, Amazon Fargate• Experience building apps for real-time streaming using Apache Spark Streaming, Apache Kafka and/or Amazon Kinesis
